Our General Practitioners

Dr Kathryn Dunne MBBS (Mon) FRACGP Dip Hyp

Kath has a particular interest in preventative health care looked at from a holistic body/mind/spirit perspective. Other interests include women’s health and mental health. Where appropriate, she incorporates her experience gained in general practice with hypnotherapy.

Dr Thuy B Nguyen MBBS (Melb1996) FRACGP DipRANZCOG

Thuy B graduated from the University of Melbourne, with special interests in general practice including women’s health, antenatal shared care and paediatric care.

Dr Jeannie Knapp MBChB (Otago) Dip Obs FRACGP

Jeannie is from New Zealand and has lived in Melbourne since 2005. She enjoys all aspects of providing care to families, with particular interests in the health of children, chronic disease management and mental health problems.

Dr Thuy A Nguyen MBBS (Melb 95) FRACGP Dip RANZCOG

Thuy A has special interest in women's health and paediatric care. She is an antenatal shared care specialist associated with all the major hospitals in Melbourne. Thuy A performs minor procedures such as Implanon insertions and removals.

Dr Peter Ng MBBS FRACGP DRANZCOG

Peter has recently commenced working at CSMC. He looks forward to getting to know patients and their families, and providing continuous and comprehensive care. He enjoys the variety offered by General Practice and has an interest in Paediatrics, men’s health and aged care. He is also available for office based procedures including skin cancer removal and implanon removal.

Dr Elizabeth Crouch MBBS (Mon 1983) FRACGP Dip RANZCOG

Libby has been working in General Practice for 25 years in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and her special interests include mental health, eating disorders, paediatrics and minor surgical procedures.

Dr Ian Kerr MBChB FRACGP DA(UK) Adv Dip Occ Health

Ian moved to Melbourne from Queensland in May 2014 and joined the practice in June.
He graduated in Aberdeen and worked in Edinburgh as a General Practitioner for 25 years before emigrating to Australia in 2008. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice and is interested in chronic disease management and has a particular interest in asthma, diabetes and heart disease.
He also works as a tutor at Melbourne University where he teaches medical students.

 

Allied Health Professionals

We are fortunate to work closely with a number of experienced Allied Health Professionals including:

Sexual therapist - Dr Joanna Wright MbChB (UK) MRCGP, BSc (Hons) FRACGP

Jo trained in the UK as a GP and Psychosexual Therapist. At Church Street Medical Centre she is available to see individuals and/or couples who are experiencing sexual problems. She treats a wide range of sexual problems including low libido, anorgasmia, sexual pain, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. Patients do not require a referral.

Psychologist (registered with Medicare) –  Jo-Anne Fleischer

Jo is an experienced registered psychologist and hypnotherapist. She works with a broad range of people and issues, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, confidence, relationships, self esteem, sleep and weight managment issues. She uses an eclectic collection of psychological tools, and has a strong interest in natural medicine, also practicing flower essence therapy, utilising clinical hypnotherapy, and has done additional training in nutrition for mental health. Her approach is friendly, holistic and non-judgmental, aiming to work with you to achieve overall, and particularly psychological wellbeing

Psychologist (registered with Medicare) - Katrina Schlager

Katrina Schlager is a Registered Psychologist who sees adults for short-term or longer term psychotherapy employing various therapeutic approaches. She specialises in antenatal and post-natal anxiety and depression, mother infant relationships, infant care and also couple relationships. She has  worked in Mother Baby Units for many years, as well as having past experience with an IVF clinic and working with (in) fertility issues. She is also able and interested in general life problems, relationships, anxiety and depression.

 

Natural Fertility Specialist - Dr Kerry Hampton, RN, RM, Grad Dip (Health Ed), Master of Arts (Women's Studies), PhD

Kerry is a nurse/midwife natural fertility specialist. She joined Church Street Medical Centre in 2008, and provides natural fertility and wellbeing counselling for couples who are planning a pregnancy, having trouble conceiving, or wish to establish a natural approach to contraception. For couples who are planning a pregnancy, the consultations are designed to help reduce the time it takes to get pregnant, optimise pregnancy health and health of parents and their children. Depending on couples’ needs, the natural contraceptive consultations can include use of a diaphragm. All appointments are made on 0419830530. A medical referral is appreciated but not necessary.
